Local Area Overview
Montgomery Biscuits/Riverwalk Stadium - The Biscuits’ we’re referencing are actually a minor league baseball team (class AA Tampa Bay Rays affiliate), and Riverwalk Stadium is the venue they call home. Relatively new to Montgomery, Biscuit fever has recently struck the town, and with current MLB superstars like Carl Crawford having gone through the Biscuit system, why shouldn’t there be a bit of Biscuit fever?
Old Alabama Town - Americans love restoring and rehabbing homes: just ask the founders of HGTV. Old Alabama Town is more or less derived from the same concept, updating and authentically restoring six blocks worth of late 19th century architecture in the heart of downtown Montgomery.
Alabama State Capitol - Capitol buildings are often overlooked during 21st century travel, but what if I told you that Alabama’s State Capitol is also the workplace of State Auditor, Samantha Shaw? Gets you a little more excited, doesn’t it?
Blount Cultural Park - You don’t need us to tell you about Wynton M. Blount, nor do you need us to tell you about his park, which is nearly as famous as Wynton himself. So we’re not going to say anything, except that the unique park, which “unites art and nature”, is really, really great. Click the link for more info, gang.
Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base - Home to Air University, this base is more than just a base—it is, in fact, the Air Force's center for professional military education. With such a broad set of educational fields, you may even consider staying and enrolling upon your arrival.
Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail - Whether you travel for business or pleasure, it’s always good to know where the nearest golf course is. Maybe it's a 290-yard rip off the tee that will seal the deal with your business partner, or maybe your family wants to do something dreadful, like go shopping. Any way you look at it, with three unique courses, the Jones Golf Trail is exactly where you’ll want to be.
