What do you look for in students for the Drury Internship Program?
We look for students with an outgoing, positive, energetic personality, who have a passion for the hotel industry, have the objective to learn as much as possible and have a focus on future career opportunities.
Is the Drury Internship Program only for Hotel Management students?
No, a student studying another major but interested in Hotel Management can also apply and get experience in the industry.
Is the Drury Internship just seasonal, or can it be done any time during the year, part-time/full-time?
During our busy summer season students can get a lot of experience, but we can also accommodate students at some locations during the winter, spring breaks or all year long.
At what locations do you offer Internships?
We like to encourage all of our hotels/locations to rotate interns (specific locations may vary).
Are students required to write a paper or a presentation summarizing, “Why did you choose Hotel Management”?
No, it is not required. (Students may be asked this question during the interview, though).
Is an established educational program required for a student to be an Intern?
Students should be enrolled in an accredited educational program.
Will Interns be treated like a team member?
Students will be Drury team members and yes, will be treated as one of the team.
How will Intern credits be earned in the Drury Internship Program?
Credit hours earned will be applied as requested by the student’s educational program.
How much do Interns get paid and how?
We offer competitive fair market wages.
Which class level is eligible for Drury’s Internship?
Drury accepts Internships from the freshman level and up, following the specifications of the student’s educational program.
